— Element Boya

From Tuzla to the world,
a reliable powder coating partner.

Element Electrostatic Powder Coatings is an integrated powder coating manufacturer producing polyester, epoxy, hybrid and polyurethane resin families under one roof at its facility in Aydınlı-Birlik OSB, Tuzla / Istanbul. With over 20 years of production experience, we manage the entire process — from raw material supply to formulation, from production to quality control — at our own facility with our own procedures.

Our in-house R&D team works on an extensive formulation archive managing thousands of recipes; samples are retained for two years for every production lot, turning field feedback into traceable, repeatable formulas. Our ISO 9001 quality management system and ASTM-compliant test laboratory ensure consistent performance for every batch.

Today we supply 700+ customers across 18 countries without interruption, with an annual production capacity of over 6,000 tons — as a name for technical reliability in Europe, the Caucasus, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia.

— Powder Coating Technology

Solvent-free, efficient and
durable coating technology.

Powder coating is a coating method in which a dry mixture of resin, pigment and additives is electrostatically charged and applied to a surface, then cured in an oven. There are no VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions, material efficiency is approximately 100%, and a single coat produces a harder, more durable film than liquid paint.

Solvent-free

No VOC emissions during application or curing.

Approximately 100% efficiency

Overspray powder is recovered in the booth and reused.

High mechanical strength

Superior resistance to impact, scratching and abrasion.

Excellent single-coat results

Usually reaches target thickness without an additional coat.

— Surface Preparation & Curing

The right pretreatment
means a lasting result.

The adhesion quality and corrosion resistance of powder coating largely depend on surface preparation before application. Depending on the material type and environment, one or more of the following pretreatment methods are applied.

Surface Preparation MethodSteelGalvanized / Zinc-CoatedAluminum
Cleaning / Degreasing
Sandblasting (SA 2½)
Iron Phosphate
Zinc Phosphate
Hot-Dip Galvanizing
Chrome-Free Pretreatment (Aluminum)

Curing (Baking) Reference Table

The values below show typical metal temperature and baking time ranges by resin family. The exact cure schedule is specified per product code in the technical data sheet (TDS).

— Production & Quality

From recipe to part,
a traceable process.

Our production process takes the formula approved by R&D through weighing, mixing, extrusion, cooling, grinding, sieving and packaging to become the final product. Every step is recorded on a per-lot basis.

Quality control steps

  1. 1All raw materials pass laboratory acceptance tests before entering production.
  2. 2A sample is taken from each lot during production to check color, gloss and particle size.
  3. 3The finished product is approved through application tests (panel coating, curing, visual inspection).
  4. 4A reference sample is retained for two years per lot to ensure traceability.

Test standards (ASTM)

Our products are evaluated according to internationally recognized ASTM test standards. Main test categories:

ASTM B117Salt Spray (Corrosion) Test
ASTM D523Gloss Measurement
ASTM D1308Chemical Resistance
ASTM D2794Impact Resistance
ASTM D3359Adhesion (Cross-Cut)
ASTM D3363Pencil Hardness

— Application Process & R&D

From electrostatic application
to performance in the field.

Application process

Powder is charged as it passes through the electrostatic gun and adheres evenly to the grounded part. The part is then cured in an oven to form a permanent, durable film. This process delivers long-lasting surfaces with minimal color and gloss loss even in demanding outdoor applications, such as roadside digital signage cabinets.

R&D

Our R&D department is responsible for developing new formulations, improving existing ones, and meeting customer-specific color and effect requests. At Element, our R&D team is a key part of our identity — through their work, they aim to set direction for the industry. Our projects, focused on new technology and sustainability, ensure we adapt to changing market conditions in line with customer needs.

— Storage & Safety

Proper storage,
consistent performance.

Storage conditions

  • The ideal storage environment is below 30°C, dry and protected from direct sunlight.
  • Products should be stacked in their original packaging on pallets, without leaning against each other.
  • Regular stock rotation (FIFO) is recommended for long-term storage.
  • Products stored at low temperatures should be brought to room temperature before application.

Health, Safety & Environment

Powder coating applications carry a lower risk level compared to VOC and solvent-based paints; however, the following basic precautions should be taken when working with powder particles.

  • Dust masks and gloves should be used when working with powder particles, especially during loading/unloading.
  • Application and curing areas should have proper ventilation and dust-collection filters.
  • Grounding of electrostatic booths and equipment should be checked regularly.
  • Safety data sheets (SDS) are provided for each product upon request.

Consumption Calculation

m² = (10,000 × kg) ÷ (Film Thickness [µm] × Density [g/cm³] × Transfer Efficiency)

Example: 1 kg of powder coating, with a density of 1.5 g/cm³, a 60 µm film thickness and 100% transfer efficiency, covers approximately 11 m². Actual consumption varies with part geometry, booth efficiency and recovery rate.
